Once upon a time, in a valley where even the wind sang, there was a small but cheerful town called Cloud Village . Everyone in this town loved looking at the sky; because the sky there changed color every day. Especially Lina , the youngest resident of the town, couldn’t stop looking at the sky.
Lina was a seven-year-old child, very curious and full of dreams. Her biggest dream was to touch the sky. “One day I will touch the clouds,” she would tell everyone. The adults would smile and say, “Your dreams are beautiful,” and move on.
One day, as Lina was strolling through the old fairground on the edge of town, she saw a colorful shimmer carried by the wind. Among the grass lay a balloon, brighter than anything she had ever seen before, a rainbow of colors . But this wasn’t an ordinary balloon; its colors moved, shimmering as if it were alive.
As Lina approached the balloon, it swayed slightly, and a whisper-like sound was heard:
“Whoever finds me will also carry the color of their heart.”
Lina wasn’t scared. On the contrary, her heart started beating rapidly the moment she touched the balloon. As soon as she held onto the string, her feet lifted off the ground! Suddenly, she found herself rising towards the sky.
As they ascended into the clouds, the world below seemed tiny. Lina was initially excited, then a little scared, but the balloon seemed to understand her and slowed down.
“Don’t worry,” said the balloon. “I’m a Rainbow Balloon . I collect the colors that people have forgotten.”
“Forgotten co“Yes,” said the balloon. “When joy fades, yellow disappears; when hope diminishes, green fades; when courage goes, red fades. I preserve these colors so that the world does not turn gray.”
They had embarked on a long journey together across the sky. Their first stop was the Silent City , where no one smiled . People there talked, but they didn’t laugh from the heart. Lina sat next to a child and told him about her dreams. The child smiled. At that moment, a bright yellow light appeared in the sky; the balloon absorbed this light.
Then they went into a dark forest. Everyone there was afraid to move forward because they were afraid of getting lost. Lina bravely walked on, placing her hand on her heart. Those who saw her followed her. The forest lit up, and a red light rose into the sky.
The journey lasted days. Lina was tired but didn’t give up. Because at each stop, the world became a little more colorful. Finally, the balloon slowed down.
“It’s time to go back,” said the Rainbow Balloon.
“But will I see you again?” asked Lina.
The balloon glowed as if it were smiling.
“Whenever someone dreams, I’m there.”
Suddenly, Lina found herself back at the fairground. All she had was a small, colorful piece of string. But when she looked up at the sky…
a rainbow was shining directly over Cloud Village.
Lina grew up after that day, but she never gave up on her dreams. And anyone in Bulutköy who looked up at the sky and smiled knew that somewhere, the Rainbow Balloon was still gathering colors.
