Once upon a time…
in a silent valley where no one ever went, there was a forest that couldn’t speak but could listen . The trees made no sound, and the animals spoke very little. Because the heart of the forest was asleep.
Ela was the only child living in this forest . Ela loved touching the soil and examining the shapes of the leaves. One day, she found a tiny, shimmering seed on the ground. While the seed was in her hand, Ela heard a very faint sound:
“You’re the first person to hear me…”
Ela was surprised but not scared.
“Who are you?” she whispered.
“I am the heart of the forest,” said the seed.
“I have shrunk because no one has listened to nature for so long.”
Ela didn’t just put the seed in her pocket right away. First, she dug into the soil, found a soft spot, and carefully planted the seed. Every day she came to water it, but most of all, she listened . To the wind, the ants, the smell of the earth…
Days passed. From the seed, not just an ordinary sapling, but a tree grew, its leaves making different sounds. As the leaves swayed, one said “protect,” another “share,” and another “be patient.”
The animals, hearing these sounds, returned to the forest. People learned to be quiet and to think before littering. Because the forest no longer shouted, it taught by whispering .
One day Ela went to the tree, but it was gone. Only a small note remained in its place:
“The forest is awake now.
It no longer needs someone to teach it to listen.”
Ela smiled.
From that day on, everyone knew that:
Nature loves children who truly listen to her the most.
