Far, far away, in a kingdom not even marked on maps , lay the Kingdom of Mirnavia . This kingdom was inhabited not by humans, but by animals. The most interesting aspect was this: everyone was what they were; the fox was cunning, the turtle patient, the owl wise… and the cats? The cats were both elegant and courageous.
The kingdom’s most respected knight was Sir Pation , also known as the Cat Knight . His silver armor reached down to his tail, and he wielded his claws, not his sword. He never wronged anyone, never abandoned anyone. But he had one flaw: he was too serious. He had almost forgotten how to laugh.
One day in the kingdom’s marketplace, it was noticed that gold was disappearing from pockets on its own. No doors had been forced open, and there were no signs of breakage. Everyone was baffled. Then a faint sound was heard:
“Perhaps the gold walked away?”
The sound came from a mouse named Little Trickster , with a hat the size of a walnut shell and constantly shining eyes . Nobody took him seriously because he was too small, but everyone suspected him because he was too clever .
The Cat Knight caught the mouse, but didn’t throw it in the dungeon.
“If you’re innocent, prove it,” he said.
The Little Trickster grinned.
“If I’m guilty,” he said, “that would be more interesting.”
At that moment, the kingdom shook. The earth split open, and an ancient curse called the Silent Shadow emerged. This curse stole the joy from the kingdom, weighing heavily on everyone’s hearts. The gold, too, had actually sunk underground at the call of the curse.
The Cat Knight drew his sword, but it was no use. The curse neither ceased to strike nor frightened.
The Little Trickster climbed onto his shoulder and whispered,
“You can’t defeat this by force. You have to surprise it .”
At first, the Cat Knight hesitated. Then he trusted the mouse.
Together they devised a bizarre plan: Little Trickster performed tricks to defy the curse, fought with his own tail, played chess with an invisible being, and even sang to the curse. And Cat Knight… laughed. Laughed heartily.
The laughter echoed. Damn was surprised. Because in a thousand years, no one had laughed in front of him.
And at that moment, the Silent Shadow cracked and disintegrated.
The gold is back. The kingdom has regained its former glory.
Everyone wanted to declare Little Trickster a hero, but he had already disappeared. Only a small note remained in the marketplace:
“Sometimes the greatest trick is to show everyone the truth from an unexpected angle.”
The Cat Knight?
From that day on, he attached a small bell under his armor. So it would jingle as he walked.
And so he wouldn’t forget: Courage, sometimes, is knowing how to laugh.
And in the Kingdom of Myrnavia, if someone still laughs at night, they say:
“The Little Trickster has touched a nerve again.”
