Once upon a time, there was a small and charming village nestled among the mountains. In this village lived a curious little girl named Mina , who loved winter more than anyone else. Watching the snowflakes drift down from the sky and walking on the pristine white blanket was like a fairytale for her.
One morning, Mina woke up, looked out her window, and couldn’t believe her eyes. Snow that had fallen throughout the night had covered the village in a blanket as soft as cotton. The trees were adorned with white hats, and the roofs resembled sugar-coated cookies.
Mina quickly put on her scarf, hat, and gloves and went outside. She was about to start making a snowman when she heard a faint sound coming from the bushes.
“Chirp… chirp…”
As Mina approached carefully, she saw a small sparrow with a slightly injured wing. The sparrow was shivering from the cold.
Mina said, “Don’t be afraid, little friend, I will help you.”
She gently picked up the sparrow and took it home. Together with her mother, they placed the bird in a warm box, gave it some water and breadcrumbs. Mina looked after the sparrow throughout the day, singing songs and telling it stories.
The next morning, the sparrow looked much better. Mina placed the box on the windowsill. The sparrow flapped its wings, thanked Mina with a tiny chirp, and flew up into the sky.
Although Mina felt a little sad, she also felt happy to have been able to help.
Just then, cheerful voices of children came from the garden. When Mina went outside, she saw that her friends had built a huge snow castle.
“We built this fortress for your sake, Mina!” they said. “We saw you helping the little bird yesterday. You are a true hero.”
Mina’s face lit up with joy. Together they played snowball fights, played hide-and-seek in the snow castle, and drank hot cocoa.
That day, Mina learned something:
true surprises aren’t in gifts, but in the warm, comforting feeling in the heart that comes from doing good deeds.
And from that day on, Mina never forgot not only how to play on any snowy day, but also how to help the living creatures around her.
