Once upon a time, in the quietest corner of the forest, covered with soft grass, lived a tiny rabbit named Maya , who was very, very sleepy. Maya had long ears and a snow-white tail, but what set her apart from other rabbits was that she fell asleep anywhere.
One day, the sun had just risen and the birds were chirping. Maya was still yawning when she should have been waking up.
“ Hooofff… Just five more minutes… ” he muttered.
But that day, there was a Spring Festival in the forest ! All the animals were coming together to dance and play games. Maya really wanted to go, but her eyelids were getting heavy all the time.
While walking on the road, suddenly a squirrel’s voice was heard:
“Maya! Do you want some walnut scent to stay awake?”
The smell of walnuts invigorated Maya for a while, but then she started yawning again.
When he had gone a little further, an old turtle called out to him:
” Little rabbit, if you breathe slowly, you will wake up.”
Maya tried, perking up slightly… but before the turtle could finish his sentence, Maya yawned suddenly.
Finally, Maya came to a stream. The cool water splashed on her face and she suddenly woke up. Looking into the water, she saw her own reflection; a slightly sleepy but sweet smile spread across her face.
Just then, Luna the Owl, the wisest creature in the forest , glided through the branches.
” Maya,” said Luna, “you think you’re tired because you’re sleepy. But sometimes being slow helps you notice the beauty around you. Even if you can’t run fast at a festival, you’ll see the most beautiful things.”
Maya’s eyes lit up. For once, she didn’t feel like being sleepy was a bad thing.
When she arrived at the Spring Festival, everyone was running, jumping, and playing happily. Maya sat on a soft bouquet of flowers and began to observe her surroundings. She was the one who noticed the butterflies’ dance, the flowers’ swaying, and the birds’ colors.
Finally, the animals gathered around Maya.
“ Maya, tell us what you see from your eyes!” they said.
Maya calmly described all the beautiful things. Everyone was amazed to hear her mention details they hadn’t noticed.
And from that day on, Maya was known by everyone in the forest as the “Dream-Eyed Rabbit . “
Her sleepiness was no longer a problem, but a special talent.
As the day ended, Maya lay on the grass and murmured:
“If I am a little sleepy, then I must be a little dreamy.”
And as the forest fell asleep, little rabbit Maya closed her eyes to a night filled with sweet dreams.
