Once upon a time, there lived a tiny droplet of water inside a pure white cloud in the sky. His name was Benny . Benny was a little different from the other droplets; he was very curious and wanted to see the world.
One day the wind began to shake the clouds. Benny looked down and saw a colorful world.
“Now is the time!” he said to himself. And he bravely glided down.
Benny fell into a field . The soil was very dry and cracked. A small plant was wilting from thirst. Benny immediately crawled towards the plant’s roots. The plant revived, and its leaves turned green.
“Thank you,” said the plant.
Benny understood then: Water meant life.
Then Benny entered a small stream
. The stream was full of trash: plastic bottles, bags… The fish were sad. “If the water is polluted, we can’t live,” they said.
Benny was very upset, but he didn’t lose hope. The stream passed by a village. The children in the village decided to clean the stream. They put on their gloves and collected the trash. The stream was spotless.
Benny’s face lit up with joy.
“So, it turns out people can protect nature if they want to,” he thought.
As the sun rose, Benny warmed up and slowly evaporated . He returned to the sky, to the clouds. He was now wiser and braver.
He said to the other water droplets:
“The world is waiting for us. But if we don’t use water carefully, life will become difficult.”
From that day on, every time it rained, Benny whispered to the children:
“Conserve the water, love nature, think about the future.”
