Once upon a time, in a faraway land, in a town where moonlight danced on the lakes every night, there lived a young girl named Lina . Her hair was the color of ash; everyone affectionately called her “Ashley .” Lina’s mother had died years earlier, and her father had remarried, a woman who was a victim not of evil, but of deception. Her stepmother, Sarma , envied Lina’s inner goodness; her two daughters, Liva and Sera , reflected back to her what they had seen in their mother.
The Secret of Moonlight Forest
Every night, when everyone else was asleep, Lina would slip out of the house and go to the Moonlight Forest, just outside town. There, Lina would befriend the little Moon Fairy Niv , a being between shadow and light, visible only to her.
One night, Niv whispered to Lina:
“The Great Hearts’ Feast is approaching. The wish of those with the brightest hearts will come true.”
Lina knew that the feast was held to find a wife for the prince, but her only wish was for her family to show her love.
Preparation and Injustice
When the day of the feast arrived, Sarma and her daughters busied themselves with preparations. They gave Lina a task, but they didn’t let her prepare.
“What would someone like you who smells of ash be doing at a feast?” Liva laughed.
Lina, however, did not lose hope within herself.
The Moon Fairy’s Gift
That night, Niv flashed at Lina’s door.
“Your heart is not darkening, Lina. I will show you the unseen.”
And she held up the moonstone crystal in her hand. Lina, whose skin was ashen, suddenly glowed with silver. Her tattered dress turned pure white, as if woven from moonlight. The moonlight, swirling around Lina, touched the ground, transforming into a moonstone chariot and silver horses.
“ But be careful, Lina… All magic dissipates at the first touch of the sun. ”
Feast of the Heart
When Lina entered the banquet hall, everyone fell silent for a moment. A moonlike peace permeated the room. Prince Arden approached Lina without asking her name. His only thought was whether what he had seen was a dream.
As the two danced, moonlight poured in through the glass ceiling of the banquet hall. But as the song drew to a close, Lina noticed a faint glow on the horizon.
The sun was rising.
Escape and the Moonstone
Before she could even thank Lina, she took off running. She stumbled on the stairs and dropped the small moonstone necklace Niv had given her . Then the magic dissipated like mist.
Arden’s Quest
The prince felt a warm feeling inside him when he took the necklace in his hand. “Whoever this person is,” he said, “carries the light of the moon in his heart.”
Arden scoured the town for the one person who could make the necklace glow. No one seemed to be experiencing the same glow… until she arrived at Lina’s doorstep.
True Light
The moment Lina touched the necklace, the crystal sparkled again.
Sarma wanted to intervene.
“No sir, that’s just service—”
But Arden interrupted.
” Whoever has the light has the heart. “
Not a Happy Ending, But a New Beginning
Before moving into the palace, Lina made a wish:
“May the hearts of my foster family be filled with understanding, not malice.”
Niv fulfilled this wish; Sarma, her daughters, and Lina learned to understand each other.
Lina and Arden continued to love each other, of course, but the real story began with each of them making their hearts beautiful.
And Moonlight Town was always a little brighter from that day on.
