Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by golden fields, there lived a poor young boy named Oliver. When his father passed away, Oliver was left with nothing but a clever cat. At first, Oliver felt disappointed.

“What can a cat do for me?” he sighed.

But this was no ordinary cat.

The cat stood up on two legs, bowed politely, and said, “Dear master, do not worry. If you trust me, I will change your life.”

Oliver was surprised—but he decided to believe in his cat.

“Alright,” he said, “what do you need?”

“Just a pair of boots and a small bag,” said the cat with a confident smile.

Oliver gave him what he asked for. The cat put on the boots, grabbed the bag, and set off on an adventure.

The Clever Plan

The cat went into the forest and cleverly caught a rabbit. He then took it to the king’s palace.

“Your Majesty,” said the cat, bowing deeply, “this is a gift from my master, the noble Marquis of Green Valley.”

The king was pleased. “What a generous nobleman!” he said.

Day after day, the cat brought gifts to the king—birds, fruits, and more—always saying they were from his master. Soon, the king became very curious about this mysterious marquis.

A Brave Trick

One day, the cat told Oliver, “Master, today is the day your life will change. Follow my instructions carefully.”

He asked Oliver to bathe in a nearby river just as the king’s carriage passed by.

When the king came near, the cat ran toward him, crying, “Help! Help! My master, the Marquis, has been robbed! His clothes were stolen!”

The kind king immediately ordered fine clothes to be given to Oliver. When Oliver appeared, dressed like a nobleman, the princess smiled kindly at him.

The Castle of the Ogre

Meanwhile, the cat ran ahead to a large castle owned by a powerful ogre.

The cat knocked on the door. “Oh mighty ogre,” he said cleverly, “I’ve heard you can turn into any animal. Is that true?”

“Of course!” said the proud ogre. He turned into a lion, roaring loudly.

The cat pretended to be frightened. “Amazing! But can you turn into something small, like a mouse?”

The ogre laughed. “Easy!” he said—and turned into a tiny mouse.

Quick as lightning, the cat caught the mouse and chased it away forever.

A New Beginning

When the king arrived at the castle, the cat greeted him.

“Welcome, Your Majesty, to the castle of my master, the Marquis of Green Valley!”

The king was impressed. Seeing Oliver’s kindness and gentle nature, he happily allowed the princess to spend time with him. Soon, Oliver and the princess became great friends—and later, they married.

As for the clever cat, he lived happily, enjoying warm meals and peaceful days.
